In the event of a domestic disaster, Christian Disaster Response will respond in cooperation with the Salvation Army and other National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD) agencies. CDR provides disaster assistance through local churches and agencies in the affected area at the request of churches.

OUR MISSION

DOMESTIC MISSION STATEMENT

CDR WILL RESPOND WITH THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS:

Initial on-site disaster assessment program.
Emergency food service-fixed-site kitchen/feeding and mobile food service.
In-kind donations of disaster recovery supplies.
Advocacy for disaster victims
(elderly-poor-minorities).
Home repair or rebuilding.

INTERNATIONAL MISSION STATEMENT

CDR WILL RESPOND WITH THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS:

Develop transportation and distribution programs for disaster relief supplies through churches, missionaries and other Christian organizations in the affected areas.
Coordinate with other responding agencies to ensure non-duplication of efforts while ensuring that all disaster-caused needs are met.
Provide food service and medical assistance to victims in the disaster-affected areas.

POLICY STATEMENT

IT IS THE POLICY OF CHRISTIAN DISASTER RESPONSE TO ASSIST VICTIMS OF NATURAL AND MAN-MADE DISASTERS IN THE USA AND IN OTHER COUNTRIES BY INVITATION. CDR WILL GIVE ASSISTANCE TO DISASTER VICTIMS REGARDLESS OF RACE, COLOR OR CREED.

1.) We will not allow promotion to dictate our program.
2.) We will not say, "Here is where the need is, but there is more promotable."
3.) We will not settle for the appearance of doing something—rather than actually doing it.
4.) We will not be content merely to ship commodities overseas; we will make sure they reach the place of maximum need and optimum service opportunity.
5.) We will not ignore the host government, especially at the place of targeted need.
6.) We will not wait too long to help—whatever the reason. ("But there's a war over there and they're shooting real bullets!")
7.) We will not ship anything/everything just to swell the in-kind totals. "Hungry people will eat anything! Bent nails are OK!" NO WAY! Only the best that we can send is good enough.
8.) Our love should not be just words and talk; our love must be true for mankind that shows itself in our actions.

STATEMENT OF BELIEFS

1.) There is ONE God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in THREE PERSONS: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
2.) Jesus Christ is TRUE GOD and TRUE MAN. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died upon The Cross for the JUST and for the UNJUST, as a substitutionary sacrifice; and all who believe in him are justified by HIS SHED BLOOD. He arose from the dead, in accordance with the scriptures. He is now at the RIGHT HAND OF MAJESTY ON HIGH as our GREAT HIGH PRIEST.
3.) The Holy Spirit is a divine person, sent to indwell, guide, teach, empower the believer, and convince the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment.
4.) The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by GOD and are a complete revelation of HIS WILL for the salvation of mankind. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian Faith and practice.
5.) SALVATION has been provided through JESUS CHRIST for all mankind; and those who REPENT and BELIEVE IN HIM AS THEIR LORD are BORN AGAIN of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the head of the body, THE CHURCH, by which has been commissioned BY HIM to GO INTO ALL THE WORLD as a witness, PREACHING THE GOSPEL TO ALL NATIONS.
6.) THE SECOND COMING OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is imminent, and will be personal and visible. This is the BELIEVER'S BLESSED HOPE, and is a VITAL TRUTH which is an incentive to HOLY LIVING AND FAITHFUL SERVICE.
